The first election-related violence that happened in Mindanao did not only shock the whole country but also the international community. Dubbed as the Maguindanao massacre, officials found 11 more bodies Wednesday, bringing the death toll to 57. Because of this gruesome act of violence, militant groups, NGOs, journalists, and several politicians have condemned the perpetrators who are believed to be the Ampatuans, a powerful political family in the province.
Meanwhile, officials found more evidence that has shocked the international community. According to investigations, the victims of the Ampatuan massacre have been butchered, with some of the women’s genital shot at and their breasts cut off. With this finding, Esmael Mangudadatu, Ampatuan’s political rival, said that his wife and two of his sisters suffered this kind of violent death. Despite of what had happened; Mangudadatu said he will not back out from running the gubernatorial race against the powerful political clan, adding that the death of his loved ones, including some journalists, lawyers, and supporters will show to the country how the Ampatuans turned Maguindanao as a violent place where warlords and their private armies reign.

As the saying goes, good or bad publicity is still a publicity. In the case of Manny Pacquiao-Krista Ranillo scandal video, the controversy of their alleged love affair may help their upcoming movie Wapakman to generate publicity which will in turn generate profit. However, the issue has made Krista as the most hated woman in the Philippines that her manager said the sexy star has received death threats. Meanwhile, the issue has also blown out of proportion when Gina Alajar’s posted a facebook shout-out that says “If I am Jinkee Pacquiao, I will not give up Manny. Krista Ranillo is not worth it.”
Aside from the alleged affair with Manny, there is another controversy that links the young sexy star. This is the Krista Ranillo – Mocha Uson kiss which has been generating a lot of controversy in the Internet. In the photos, Krista was seen kissing with another girl and from the looks of it, it was a hot steamy kiss. However, some people just dismissed the photos as just another publicity stunt for someone who made a name not from her acting flair but from the bad controversies involving her.

The quote that sparked hatred and anger from many Filipinos across the globe. Jacque Bermejo (or Jackie Bermejo), an OFW from Dubai, supposedly posted that quote on the wall section of the Facebook fanpage, Definitely Filipino, during the time when the tropical storm Ondoy has left many devastated homes and families here in the Philippines.
Who is she? A Marketing and PR Officer. Jacqueline is an experienced PR associate who has been active in the Middle East for over four years. Currently working with a number of luxury property developers. she has extensive knowledge of the market, media and what makes an excellent success story…
Well that’s what the Internet have to say about her, but what about the users.
A lot of people are now calling her insensitive, shameless, pathetic, and worse ‘persona non grata’. Replies of hate flooded the wall post. I saw the post on Facebook earlier today, but unfortunately I didn’t got a screenshot before they took it down. Some took great lengths to create Facebook hate clubs, and on the flip side, there is also the Jacque Bermejo is Innocent — support club.
Commenters on Yahoo! Answers have both positive and negative reactions about her. Some believed that her social media account was hacked, and that the starfishbuang pages were fake and not hers.
An entry from thegossiper.typepad.com posted a statement from Jacque’s brother
ok! it all started sa Friendster last year 2008, my sister told me that her account was hacked by someone mad at her prolly inggit or may galit… she really doesn’t know or what’s the reason why she has been hacked, of corse she’s pissed off because this person keeps messing up her friendster profile. So, hinayaan lang ng sister ko yun, since wala nmn xang alam sa social networking or kung ano man, she’s a working woman na at wala xang panahon magfriendster…
Visit thegossiper, for the complete statement, and also a screencap of the email.
There is also an alleged fake Facebook and Multiply account that uses the same handle, starfishbuang. The Facebook page — http://www.facebook.com/starfishbuang is already gone (click here to view screenshot). And as of this post the Multiply page is still active — http://starfishbuang.multiply.com
Comments are circulating around the Internet that these profile pages were not her’s, and it was made by someone who want’s to ruin her.
Interestingly someone took the time to create a Wikipedia entry on her. The page has already been deleted. But using Google cache I was able to get a screenshot of the page.

My opinion? Just let it be. We can’t blame her if there is a troll ruining her reputation. And on the other side, if the statement was really hers, then what’s the point adding fire to the flame. We have a crisis here in the Philippines, instead of using your time and effort on her, why not just contribute in helping the victims of floods.
I did my part… how about you?
