For those who love music and anything that is free, Winamp just released their 10th Anniversary edition media player. Winamp, created by Nullsoft, is one of the most popular free media player software available in the Internet. Winamp 5.5, directly competes with Apple’s iTunes and Windows Media Player, and it comes with all of these new features:

  • A completely redesigned interface, including Album Art
  • Multiple device support, including Apple iPods
  • Access and Share your Music and Videos with Winamp Remote
  • Play and Playlist the Best Music on the Web with Media Monitor
  • Enjoy Dynamic Song Recommendations
  • Experience MP3 Surround Sound Support
  • Access to Thousands of Online Radio Stations, Videos and More!
  • 50 Free MP3 Music downloads compliments of eMusic’s 2-week Trial
  • Auto-Tagger provides automatic updates to file information
  • Control Winamp from your browser with a the Winamp Toolbar

I’m a long time user of Winamp, and I can safely say that it is the most used software on my PC. Sometimes I even let it running while I’m sleeping, just to provide a nice ambiance or a good background music. I never did have any problems in using this software for years, and I also maintain it by downloading the latest version every time it comes out. Another reason why I stick to using Winamp is because of the DFX plugin. DFX enhance the sound quality of your music files, and is a great companion with my sub woofer powered speakers.
