Mortal Kombat vs DC Comics

Mortal Kombat vs DC Comics

Rumor has it that a new game from Midway is in the works. Pitting the characters from Mortal Kombat and the heroes of DC Comics. If you remember back in the days there was a game-comic arcade game released called Street Fighter vs Marvel Superheroes.

I think this game, if ever released, will almost be the same like the one created by Capcom. Just imagine how Superman or Batman do a fatality move.

Fresbo World, an MMOG

Fresbo World

If you are a regular user of the social network Friendster or Facebook, then you’ve probably heard about Fresbo World. It is an app, or technically an online game that lets you create a custom avatar and roam around its cities buying items and talking to other players.

It features:

  • Experience a 3D world with thousands of other players simultaneously.
  • Customise your personal avatar with more than 250 options: hair, face, skin, clothing – even underwear!
  • Decorate your own room using our wide selection of furniture and wallpaper.
  • Go shopping for all your housing and avatar needs in our Fresbo shopping mall.
  • Form new friendships or meet old friends by checking out their avatar’s social network profile.
  • Chat, whisper or even mail gifts or messages to other Fresbo users.
  • Look for cheap bargains in our auction house.
  • Earn ranks, gain powers and sabotage your friends in our addictive multiplayer game of ‘Pass The Bomb’.
  • Play our collection of arcade games to earn points and set high scores.

If you have this app on your Facebook, Bebo, or Friendster then chances are you already have an account on their site. This is a good time waster, but the game is far from complete. On numerous occasions, I encounter mostly local (Philippines) players there.

Guimp, world’s smallest website

Posted on the April 30th, 2008 under Websites by Ryman

It measures at only 18×18 pixels, Guimp.com is one of the world’s smallest website. There are other websites that are also small, but this one really functions. There is an option to view a flash of HTML version of the site. The navigational arrows move back and forward, and there is a home button. It has games, haiku, gallery, etc.

I didn’t include a screenshot, well, because it was so small. Just click the link above to visit the site.

Happy 50th birthday kaitenzushi

Posted on the April 29th, 2008 under Food, News by Ryman

Conveyor belt sushi

Who is kaitenzushi? It is not really a person, but a device. The Conveyor belt sushi (回転寿司, kaitenzushi) celebrates its 50th anniversary this month.

Yoshiaki Shiraishi (1914-2001) opened the first conveyor belt sushi Mawaru Genroku Sushi in Osaka in 1958.

Btw, the kaitenzushi also has a cute name in Japan… the kuru kuru sushi (くるくる寿司, literally sushi-go-around). The Australians are more direct with the name though, by simply calling it the train sushi.
