Sony announces new PS3 Slim

Posted on the August 19th, 2009 under Gadgets, Games, Gaming, Hardware by Jay

We know, we’re as shocked as you are! Sony has used the GamesCom stage in Cologne to announce the oh-so-tiny PS3 Slim. The good news is that the system sports both a slimmer form factor (33 percent smaller, 36 percent lighter and 34 percent less power use) a 120GB hard drive and the tidy price tag of $299. It boasts all the same features as the current PS3, which means still no backwards compatibility with your PS2 games.

Now there is no reason not to buy a PS3 this holiday!, unless your broke >_< ouch..

Diablo 3

Posted on the June 29th, 2008 under Games, Gaming by Jay

Its Official Blizzard Announce Diablo 3

We’re developing Diablo III to be the definitive action role-playing game, and a true continuation of the Diablo series. Players will create a hero from one of five distinct classes, such as barbarian or witch doctor, each equipped with an array of spells and abilities. As these heroes adventure through rich and varied settings, unraveling an epic storyline and engaging in combat with hordes of monsters and challenging bosses, they’ll grow in experience and ability and acquire items of incredible power.

The game takes place on Sanctuary, a world of dark fantasy. Unbeknownst to most of its inhabitants, Sanctuary was saved some twenty years ago from the demonic forces of the underworld by a few brave and powerful heroes. Most of those warriors who directly faced the armies of the Burning Hells — and were fortunate enough to survive — went mad from their experiences. And most of the others have buried their haunted memories and pushed the horrors from their thoughts. In Diablo III, players will return to Sanctuary to confront evil in its many forms once again.

Diablo III will be a fitting sequel to Diablo II, with the easy interface, fast-paced action, and visceral gameplay that Diablo players have come to expect and enjoy. It will also include many new features that will take the Diablo action-RPG experience to the next level. We look forward to going into much more detail on our plans for Diablo III as development on the game progresses

yea I am excited :P

Play Tongits in your PC

Posted on the March 5th, 2008 under Games by Ryman

Tongits is one of the most played card game here in the Philippines. I learned how to play the game back when I was still in high school. Tongits game play is almost like Gin Rummy, or I you ever played Mah Jhong, it’s also similar. The game is fast paced, and can end quickly depending on how the players manages to collect the card pieces he/she needs.

It’s been almost 10 years since I last played that game with my classmates and friends since most of my time now are spent in front of a computer, at home and at work. Heck the only card game you get to play in your computer are solitaire and hearts.

So if you are itching to play the popular local card game Tongits in your computer, you’re in luck. Rico Zuniga, ported and created a PC version of the game using the latest Adobe technology called Adobe® AIR™.

Head over to www.tongits.net to download a free trial copy of the game. You also need Adobe AIR installed in your computer to run the game. You can get a free installation of Adobe AIR at Adobe.com. The fully functional trail will let you play the game as many rounds as you can, but the free trial will end after 10 times of opening (running) the game. If you like the game you can purchase it for only $5.00. This is to support the developer and any other future releases.

I would have posted this earlier today, but I got hooked playing the game for three hours. And I’m already loosing against both the computer, with current wins 30, 25, 23 (I have the 23 wins). I’m still playing (alt+tabbing) as I’m writing this article. Here’s my current game screenshot.

Cursor 10, flash game

Posted on the March 4th, 2008 under Games by Ryman

Another site I found while PMOGing.

Cursor*10 is a very simple flash game with a twist. The goal is simple, use the stairs to move the cursor above the building. You have 10 cursors to play with. It seems easy at first, but it will boggle your mind on how to reach the last floor which is the 16th floor. This is a game of cooperation, when a cursor dies, you will follow its path using your next active cursor. The ‘dead’ cursor moves exactly the way you moved them before they died. Also you can get points by hitting (clicking) the boxes and triangles on the stage.

Here is a tip, you actually need at least 5 or 6 cursors minimum in order to reach the 16th floor, that is if the previous ‘dead’ cursors is placed ’strategically’ on various points/floors of the game. So that means, don’t waste moving around your cursor and get to the top quickly.

The game uses a very simple graphics because when there are lots of cursors moving around, the game seems to slow down.
