Nitrogen Trifluoride from HDTV is more harmful than CO2

Posted on the July 12th, 2008 under News by Ryman

NF3

LCD panels from HDTV use a deadly gas called Nitrogen Trifluoride when in production. The gas is said to be harmful to your kidneys and liver. Not only that, but when the gas is released into the environment, let’s say, when HDTVs have become old and replaced by newer models of TV’s and then broken down to pieces, the gas it releases is about 17,000 times more harmful than carbon dioxide. The end result: Extensive global warming over a hundred year period.

Free TV to go digital on American soil by Feb. 18, 2009

Posted on the July 12th, 2008 under News by Ryman

Analog to Digital

USA: On Feb. 18, 2009, on air signal will now broadcast over digital transmission. Those who will get affected are the ones who are still using old rabbit-ears antenna to receive free TV broadcast. Their units must now use a digital tuner to continue viewing TV shows. Cable and satellite TV, however, are not affected.

Goodbye to analog, hello to digital.

The catch on the next post..
