The Parallel Universe, for movies of course

The Parallel Universe Film Guide

The Parallel Universe Film Guide

Remember the hit 1997 horror film I Know What You Ate for Breakfast, about “big-breasted teens being chased in the rain by a madman who seems to know each of their dietary restrictions”? Or that vintage (if historically dubious) 1948 biopic Babe Ruth Cures Cancer, in which the Bambino also implements the Marshall Plan? No? That’s because these movies exist only on the Parallel Universe Film Guide, an amazingly large, laugh-out-loud-funny database of films that will never be available on Netflix, along with entries for their nonexistent directors and ersatz stars

Were movies that doesn’t exist, exists.

50 Most Famous Cars

Posted on the August 12th, 2008 under Automotive, TV Shows & Movies by Ryman

I definitely like this list of 50 famous cars, they mostly came from the movies and TV series I guess, so I can still remember most of the entries that were shown decades ago.

Where It’s From: Gone in 60 Seconds [2000] film

Claim to Fame:Stuck behind a traffic jam and desperate to outrun the rapidly advancing 5-0, Memphis [Nicolas Cage] throws “Eleanor” and her 428 cubic-inch, 360-hp engine in drive and using a lowered towtruck flat bed as a ramp, launches her 30 feet up in the air. Completely airborne, Memphis flies Eleanor over 15 feet of damaged cars and rescue workers – landing intact on the other side, cocked, locked, and ready to rock

The Original ACME Catalog

Posted on the May 17th, 2008 under Photos & Images, TV Shows & Movies by Ryman

ACME Anvil

ACME is a worldwide leader of many manufactured goods. From its humble beginnings providing corks and flypaper to bug collectors (“Buddy’s Bug Hunt/1935″) to its heyday in the American Southwest supplying a certain coyote, from Ultimatum Dispatchers to Batman outfits, ACME has set the standard for excellence.
For the first time ever, information and pictures of all ACME products, specialty divisions, and services featured in Warner Bros. cartoons (made by the original studio from 1935 to 1964) are gathered here, in one convenient catalog. For more information about any ACME product, simply click on the thumbnail picture.

You can view the full catalog at home.nc.rr.com, but unfortunately you can’t order any of the products. It contains an alphabetical listing of all (?) ACME products.

Movie Goers: Don’t Skip the Iron Man End Credits

Posted on the May 1st, 2008 under TV Shows & Movies by Ryman

Apparently after the end credits for the much awaited movie this summer, Iron Man, you will see a 40 second clip which shows Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) talking with Tony Stark. And for those who don’t know much about Marvel Universe, Nick Fury is a distinguished agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and a well-known Marvel character. This agency is responsible for recruiting a number or America’s superheroes in order to combat powerful villains. One such hero they recruited, although temporarily, is Wolverine of the X-Men.

Nick Fury

“At the end of the credits, Stark comes home and finds Nick Fury in his living room -staring towards the window. He then turns to tell Stark he’s the not the only superhero in the world. Stark asks who he is, and Fury turns and says he’s “Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D, and I’m here to talk to you about The Avengers Initiative”.

Too bad I didn’t saw this last night when I watched Iron Man. It was because it was already the last full show that evening which ended around 11:30pm. But this exciting news will give Marvel fans a new hope that Marvel Studios will revive the creation of The Avengers movie, and a possible Nick Fury movie starring Samuel L. Jackson. And that is another character jumping of the pages of Marvel Comics who will be appearing on the big screen.

And if my recent post about Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk crossover is true, then we will see Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) appearing in The Incredible Hulk movie, but only as Stark (?) not Iron Man.

If the Avengers movie pushes through then we will see both the Hulk and Iron Man in it, along with other heroes from Marvel. I just hope that the studios will get this going soon. As a Marvel Comics fan myself, I’ve been dreaming of seeing the characters from my comic collection come alive to the big screen since I was a kid.
